Day TWENTY-TWO,
Paragraph TWENTY-TWO:

    
We need to realize the great truth that the Lord will never leave us nor forsake us, and live within the realization. Therefore, we too can declare, in the words of the Apostle Paul, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)

Question to ponder:

What makes Romans 8:38-39 one of the most encouraging Scripture passages to Christians everywhere?  _________________________________________

Keith's "Comments from the Author":

"The decisions we make in this life determine our circumstances. If we make decisions that are not right, we will eat the bitter fruit of those decisions. On the other hand, if we make the 'righteous' or right decisions, and turn away or repent of our bad choices and negative circumstances they led us to, then we will eat the sweet fruit of our right decisions. The Scriptures tell us that God is a 'Rewarder' of them who diligently seek Him. As someone who has tasted of the goodness of the Lord, I can tell you that the reward of diligence is 'God' Himself. I once heard an old, wise preacher say, 'Now, let me think; God says that if I give Him everything I've got, He'll give me everything He has.' He stopped after that and looked at the crowd he was addressing and said, 'What a d-e-a-l!!' Brenda and I would like to encourage you to examine your heart. Look for anything in your life that could be hindering you from giving your ALL to Jesus Christ. Repent of your sins, turn from your old ways, and give your everything to God. If you'll do this, you will soon be able to attest to everyone you know that you've made the BEST DEAL that you've ever made in your life! Selah. God bless you."

Day THIRTEEN,
Paragraph THIRTEEN:

    
The health and prosperity of the soul is the principal thing, and God's number one desire for us is that we prosper in our physical being, as our souls prosper. Alternately, if our concentration is on our fleshly body, to the neglect of our soul's prospering, then we are serving the creature more than He Who is its Creator. In doing so, we are living our lives backwards. Success or prosperity, as God defines it, can never come from living in that backwards way."

Question to ponder:

How many times have you had one of these, or other common, every-day “thoughts” come to your mind within minutes after you opened God’s Word to read and study: --Do I have enough gas in the car? -– Is there enough milk in the refrigerator? –- Was I supposed to call ____ today, or tomorrow?  _________________________________________

Keith's "Comments from the Author":

"Perhaps the greatest battles we will ever fight in this life will not be against the devil himself, but will be the bloody, knock-down, drag-out conflicts that occur as we work to die to our old flesh nature to take on the mind of Christ. As you know, the flesh can be very persuasive, especially when it comes to their trying to break our focus as we pursue God and His ways. As strange as this may sound, I’ll never forget the first time I remembered 'I needed a loaf of bread' as I laid my Bible open to read a few chapters before going to bed for the night. As soon as I began reading the second chapter of Scripture I was studying, thoughts came to me from out of nowhere about needing a loaf of bread! It was about 11 pm when that thought began crowding my mind as I was studying. It made no sense, really, that clear view, in my mind, of a loaf of bread, prompting me to think, ‘Ya know, I don’t have enough bread to make sandwiches for my lunch for work tomorrow. And I don't have much time left to make it to the quick-stop shop to get a loaf for in the morning.’ I remember how, with that taking over the front of my mind, I got up, grabbed my jacket, and headed out the door. Just a few minutes later, as I was driving down the road, it dawned on me that I had just let my old way of thinking, my old flesh nature, dictate my departure from the ONLY thing that can help me break loose of my old flesh nature – studying the Word of God. If you don't know what I’m talking about, pull out your Bible and start reading, and watch what happens. Be prepared to hear thoughts and voices that will start sounding off, working to get you away, and separated, from God’s Word. You are likely to hear some common thoughts in your mind about regular, every-day things, just in time to pull you away from quality time you're intending to spend in God’s presence. I have learned that this whole process of dying to our old flesh nature and its ways, in order to pursue oneness with God and knowledge of His Word, is indeed a fight; A fight we must win at all costs! I have learned from experience that, to obtain anything of great worth, great effort will be required, and it's worth the fight to obtain it! And there is nothing more WORTH-y in the universe than God, and the effort it will take for us to become 'as one’ with Him! Remember the truth and instructions of 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, ‘For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ’ and, in the Name of Christ Jesus, take captive every thought that is in your mind, or that comes to mind. Read and study what God’s Word says, ask the Holy Spirit to tutor you, and let it begin transforming you and your life in EVERY way!"

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.."  (Philippians 3:13-14)
