If you will read this book in its entirety, then you will be equipped
to begin walking with the confidence and authority that Jesus Christ came and died to provide for us, in order that we may work *with* Him, be *fulfilled* in our work, lead a *successful life*, and...

Day THIRTEEN,
Paragraph THIRTEEN:

The health and prosperity of the soul is the principal thing, and God's number one desire for us is that we prosper in our physical being, as our souls prosper. Alternately, if our concentration is on our fleshly body, to the neglect of our soul's prospering, then we are serving the creature more than He Who is its Creator. In doing so, we are living our lives backwards. Success or prosperity, as God defines it, can never come from living in that backwards way."

Question to ponder:

How many times have you had one of these, or other common, every-day “thoughts” come to your mind within minutes after you opened God’s Word to read and study: --Do I have enough gas in the car? -– Is there enough milk in the refrigerator? –- Was I supposed to call ____ today, or tomorrow?  _________________________________________

Keith's "Comments from the Author":

"Perhaps the greatest battles we will ever fight in this life will not be against the devil himself, but will be the bloody, knock-down, drag-out conflicts that occur as we work to die to our old flesh nature to take on the mind of Christ. As you know, the flesh can be very persuasive, especially when it comes to their trying to break our focus as we pursue God and His ways. As strange as this may sound, I’ll never forget the first time I remembered 'I needed a loaf of bread' as I laid my Bible open to read a few chapters before going to bed for the night. As soon as I began reading the second chapter of Scripture I was studying, thoughts came to me from out of nowhere about needing a loaf of bread! It was about 11 pm when that thought began crowding my mind as I was studying. It made no sense, really, that clear view, in my mind, of a loaf of bread, prompting me to think, ‘Ya know, I don’t have enough bread to make sandwiches for my lunch for work tomorrow. And I don't have much time left to make it to the quick-stop shop to get a loaf for in the morning.’ I remember how, with that taking over the front of my mind, I got up, grabbed my jacket, and headed out the door. Just a few minutes later, as I was driving down the road, it dawned on me that I had just let my old way of thinking, my old flesh nature, dictate my departure from the ONLY thing that can help me break loose of my old flesh nature – studying the Word of God. If you don't know what I’m talking about, pull out your Bible and start reading, and watch what happens. Be prepared to hear thoughts and voices that will start sounding off, working to get you away, and separated, from God’s Word. You are likely to hear some common thoughts in your mind about regular, every-day things, just in time to pull you away from quality time you're intending to spend in God’s presence. I have learned that this whole process of dying to our old flesh nature and its ways, in order to pursue oneness with God and knowledge of His Word, is indeed a fight; A fight we must win at all costs! I have learned from experience that, to obtain anything of great worth, great effort will be required, and it's worth the fight to obtain it! And there is nothing more WORTH-y in the universe than God, and the effort it will take for us to become 'as one’ with Him! Remember the truth and instructions of 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, ‘For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ’ and, in the Name of Christ Jesus, take captive every thought that is in your mind, or that comes to mind. Read and study what God’s Word says, ask the Holy Spirit to tutor you, and let it begin transforming you and your life in EVERY way!"

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.. (Philippians 3:13-14)

*See you tomorrow, and send invitations for your friends too! God bless and keep you!*

Day TWELVE,
Paragraph TWELVE:

God designed the human body, and He gave us all things to enjoy, however, all things belong in their proper place and perspective.  There is a Scripture verse in the first chapter of 3rd John that states this fact quite succinctly in telling God's order of thought regarding prosperity and health, saying, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth."

Question to ponder:

How does the word 'even' make a difference in the verse compared to the meaning of the verse without it?  _________________________________________

Keith's "Comments from the Author":

"Each time I read this Scripture verse, along with those around it, what jumps out at me is the word 'even'. Consider what the writer means by 'I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health'.  What he is saying is that he wishes that we, the saints back then as well as the saints of today, would prosper in direct proportion to the prosperity that results in our souls, because of our pursuing God and His Word, His will, and His ways. In other words, in direct proportion to our love for Christ Jesus, our dedication to Him, and our pursuing this journey of being transformed by His Word, we prosper. I like reading this with the great scientist Albert Einstein's theory of relativity in mind: 'For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.' So, what 3 John 1:2 is saying is that our transformation in the way we conduct our lives each day is one that he wishes to prosper along with our soul prospering in Christ. And, with the vast majority of us as believers, herein lies life's battles - walking away from the worldly flesh, to walk toward being wholly transformed into the Nature of Christ. With this, the word 'even' is used by  the writer to say that he wishes or hopes for us that, above all things, our physical body and life will prosper 'in equal part' or 'in direct proportion' to our soul prospering. Selah."

"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 1:2)

Day ELEVEN,
Paragraph ELEVEN:

The backwards way of thinking is certainly the way most career-minded people function in today's world, where the pursuit of food, clothing, shelter, wealth, and social standing come well before the pursuit of godliness. Observe that, although not placed in priority observance above the spirit and soul perspective, none of these should be construed as being of no importance to God, or be thought as though He does not care about our physical well-being. After all, He designed the human body, and the Scripture declares that God gives us richly all things to enjoy
.

Question to ponder:

What is God's vision for the new or young believer as they set out to enjoy their new journey and begin fighting for balance between their spirit, soul, and body?  _________________________________________

Keith's "Comments from the Author":

"To downplay the importance of our physical bodies would be a terrible mistake.  After all, it is our physical body that gives us legal access to move about the planet in the physical realm.  Over my many years in the church, I have watched many young believers strike imbalances in this matter, in many different ways.  Important to mention is that our walk with the Lord is a process of learning how to gain our balance in the spirit, soul, and body. Where striking the proper balance between our spirit, soul, and body is concerned, focusing solely on the spirit and the soul, omitting the importance of the body, is dangerous, to say the least.  As a youth pastor for ten years, I have had the privilege of leading many young people to Christ, and mentoring countless more.  Just as growing babies in the natural body awkwardly work at gaining their balance in learning to stand and walk, young believers can also prove rather awkward in finding their footing, so to speak, where spiritual matters, being in harmony with focus on physical matters, are concerned. As you might imagine, helping young believers strike this most important balance between spirit, soul, and body is crucial.  I learned early on that satan gets undue credit for tormenting and attacking young Christians when, instead of it being to his credit, it is more often overexhuberance in attending functions at the church (like prayer meetings, Bible studies, and group fellowships) at the expense of providing sufficient care, maintenance and nutrients, to the physical body as necessary. While it's very true that there is little else as beautiful to a pastor than when young folks, who are truly passionate about salvation, give their hearts to the Lord, become involved with the youth group, and give everything they are and have to growing in Christ. However, a young believer needs to be nurtured by leaders and mentors in the flock and fellowship, just as a newborn babe requires care, attention, and rearing by the mature adult caregivers of the household.  It goes to reason that the tendency of the newborn babe in Christ is to get so caught up in learning and growing in the things of the Lord that, if they are not careful, they can get swept away in an imbalance in their life, and end up neglecting necessary care for the physical body and health. The important thing to ponder is that we'll not enjoy all that God has given us to enjoy, if we don't take proper care of our physical body, striking that proper stewardship balance between the three: spirit, soul, and body.  I must admit, the first few times that I found myself in intense spiritual battles, I came to realize that there wasn't a demon spirit within 100 miles of me;  so the truth was actually legions of demons turned out to be my own body beginning to shut down on me.  I had become so involved in the church and in my daily work schedule that I fell into a trap of eating on the run, not getting enough sleep, and, when I did take time for a quick meal, it was fast food that contained little to no nutritional value to be gained. Hence, there was also no joy to be found. Praise God that He makes our life balanced, orderly, filled with joy unspeakable and full of glory... as long as we don't neglect proper maintenance of this physical vessel, in balance with our spirit and soul, all provided for us to enjoy, as we work all things together, in harmony!"

"Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not high-minded, not trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, Who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. (1 Timothy 6:17)

Day TEN,
Paragraph TEN:

The way we think is not the way God thinks, and God wants us to repent of our sinful ways, turn around, and seek Him with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength (see Mark 12:30). During His earthly ministry, the Lord Jesus Christ often pointed out the backwards thinking of humanity, knowing that part of
'the joy that was set before Him' for enduring the cross (see Hebrews 12:2), as He explained to His disciples, would be The Holy Spirit's coming to help us open our spiritual eyes to God's point of view. In great part, that joy that filled Christ's heart was knowing, better than anyone could ever know, just how crucially important the Holy Spirit is to our coming to understand God's ways and the true meaning of His Word. In the passage of Matthew 6:31-33 (scripture passage written in bold below), the Lord instructs us with regard to the basic care of the body and of the soul.

Question to ponder:
Are you familiar with the way that a passage of Scripture that speaks to something you're going through at the very time you read it can, weeks later, speak to something completely different that you're going through at that later time?  _________________________________________

Keith's "Comments from the Author":
"Anyone who has had the honor and privilege of meeting the Holy Spirit (in person) can attest to this fact: Wherever He goes, order and understanding are established. When you are standing with the Person of the Holy Spirit, the knowledge of God flows through every fiber of your being! And, the best way I know to describe this is, when I was with Him, I was remembering Scriptures that I had read ever since I was a young boy, and I was overcome with God's wonder as He began imparting to me the true meaning of each Scripture verse, simultaneously. I was very aware of how I was being bathed in understanding of exactly what God wanted me to understand at that moment. What I came away with amazed me beyond words! As God's Spirit brought to memory each verse I had studied, each definition He put into my spirit was remarkably different from what I had heard preached and taught over the years. The truth is really that God's ways are not just higher than our ways, but His ways are higher multiplied times infinity, times infinity, and more! When I met the Holy Spirit, everything went straight into my spirit, with no attention given to my physical body. In fact, my body was of no concern to Him whatsoever while I was present with Him. I was made keenly aware that my spirit is who I really am, and, in fact, because my body was not there to hinder my ability to stand with Him, I was able to enjoy the most wonderful experience I have ever had in my life. When 1 Peter 1:6-9 talks about 'rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory', there is no way we can truly understand that Scripture's intensity until we stand with God Himself. And the 'unspeakable' part, when you experience God, is when you're hit with the indescribable reality that the way we communicate here on earth, even with the strongest and most emphatic words of our language, cannot even begin to relay the WONDER that IS God. Even the word 'wonder' doesn't begin to describe Him! All praise, honor, and glory to our wonder-full LORD GOD!"

"Therefore take no thought do not worry, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. ( Matthew 6:31-33)

WE PRAY YOU HAVE A FUN WEEKEND...
... FILLED with fresh visions of God!
... FILLED with unfathomable joy in Christ Jesus!
... FILLED with wisdom that only the Person of The Holy Spirit brings!

*See you Monday, and invite your friends too! God bless and keep you!*

Day NINE,
Paragraph NINE:

God, knowing so well our backwards way of thinking, calls us to repentance through the prophet Isaiah, "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD." (Isaiah 55:6-8).

Question to ponder:
What does it mean to “…let him return unto the LORD” in Isaiah 55:7?  _________________________________________

Keith's "Comments from the Author":
"I can remember early in my walk with the Lord just how much I enjoyed doing ‘word studies’. For example, we’re all familiar with the passage where Jesus says, ‘without me, you can do nothing….’ When I was reading and studying that passage of Scripture, the Holy Spirit began to illuminate to me the word ‘without’. The more I looked at that word, the more things started to come together. All of a sudden, I heard in my spirit, ‘What is the word without?' It dawned on me, then, that the opposite of the word ‘without’ is the word ‘within’. What the Holy Spirit was showing me was that Jesus was not saying that, if we ‘don’t hang out with Him’ we can’t do anything. What He was showing me, however, was that ‘without’ meaning ‘on the outside of’ Him (Christ) we can do nothing, reinforcing the passage where John 15:6-9 says, ’If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered ... If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you… so shall ye be My disciples… continue ye in my love.’ Do you see how important it is that we have the Holy Spirit tutoring us in reading and understanding the Word of God? Where ‘...let him return to the Lord’ is concerned, meaning he chose to turn away from the Lord to go in the sinful ways of the world, we have another ‘word revelation’ that the Holy Spirit showed me about what ‘sin’ is. In many circles, the tendency is to think ‘sin’ refers to ‘sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll’. However, what the Holy Spirit whispered to me, concerning those things, changed my thinking from that point on. The Holy Spirit showed me that the 'sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll' are not ‘sin’ themselves, but are means by which wicked spirits lead us to turn away from God. So, what He was revealing to me is that ‘sin’ is turning toward sex, drugs, rock-n-roll, or anything else that separates us from God, building a wall or partition between us and God. Now, having said that, and listening for what the Person of the Holy Spirit will say next, let's look again at the Scripture verses from the Prophet Isaiah (below in bold). Selah. Praise the LORD!"

"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. (Isaiah 55:6-8)
