Chapter THREE, "Rightly Dividing The Word of Truth"
"Rightly Dividing The Word of Truth"
The question we'll consider this week, and find answers for, is, "How can we ever grasp God's meanings for the Word of God?" We find one answer to this question in the following First Epistle of John, "It is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater." (1 John 5:6, 9) Therefore, in establishing the truth of a teaching, "It is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth." The Apostle John also recorded these words of the Lord Jesus confirming this insight, "Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth." (John 16:13) Those verses teach us to put our ear to the Holy Spirit and listen to His Witness to the truth or falsehood of every teaching and practice. That means we must listen to hear Him confirm, or reject, the truth of, indeed, anything and everything. The Apostle Paul was also moved by the Holy Ghost to write about the same matter, "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but The Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which The Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." (1 Corinthians 2:9-14)

Keith's "Comments from the Author":
"God did not equip us with the ability to figure out His written Word! No matter how smart we think we are, we aren't smart enough to unveil God's mysteries, and He created man's intellect to be that way! Why? It's for the sake of His Children receiving The Holy Spirit Who has been given to us for the purpose of making sure that man's interpretations, the arm of flesh, never gets in the way of our becoming, and remaining, ONE with our wonder-full Father in Heaven.
However, this does not stop many people from attempting to do so. It is in many of the intellectual-focused circles, where people approach God's Word from a carnal-minded level, that we can find numerous interpretations of one single verse of Scripture that can, at times, result in heated arguments about God's Word - something that Scripture tells us 'is not profitable'. Only when The Person of The Holy Spirit explains to us what God means by the passages of Scripture He gave to the prophets to write down, that we can walk in Truth, that we can walk in understanding.
When I was called before the Person of The Holy Spirit, one of the many unfathomably wonderful things that I was able to witness was how, wherever He walks, Truth is established. Though I'm not a Star Trek fan, I do remember watching an episode or two many years ago, when, during an attack on Captain Kirk and the crew's spaceship, in an attempt to try and protect themselves, the Captain ordered his crew members to turn on 'the force field' (I think that's what they called it). In other words, he was asking his crew member to switch on an invisible force field around the entire ship, for the purpose of deflecting the destructive laser beams of the enemy. With The Person of The Holy Spirit, however, the 'force' or power that surrounds Him is God's Truth, that, wherever He goes, at all times, unlike Captain Kirk's invisible 'defensive' bubble of protection against anything that could harm what is 'inside' it, The Truth of God surrounds The Person of The Holy Spirit and enforces the 'truth' over anything and anyone that is exposed to Him from the 'outside'. No matter where The Holy Spirit goes, He establishes God's Truth and dispels whatever is n-o-t of God. If we don't learn it from The Holy Spirit, it is NOT Truth! If what we learn is NOT Truth, God WILL be misrepresented! As strong as this may sound, God did this for our benefit! We encourage you, ask The Holy Spirit to come into your life and teach you the wonderful things of God. Selah."
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord. (Isaiah 55:6-8)
