"A Leading Lady and Mother Like No Other" by Brenda

"See flipcard titles"
"Mothers play a principal role in our Heavenly Father being able to have & enjoy His Children here on Earth. All moms hold that special place in God’s heart for which we, and the countless people moms touch along the way, are eternally grateful!" – Brenda Lee (and Keith Shealy & the whole Toward The Mark Family) #CelebratingOurLeadingLadiesAndModelMoms

I was recently putting cards and packages together for family and friends and acquaintances, having a quiet conversation with The LORD along the way, when I saw downloads come in to my mind from The Holy Spirit. Needless to say, I was surprised and intrigued by this experience. So, I got my pen and paper to write down what I saw.
By the end of that “cards and packages” day, unexpectedly and by God’s leading me, the wonder-full memories that came to stir me and my heart, ultimately, became this poetic tribute I wrote, a blessing for us all to enjoy today, and for Mother’s Day, and every day. Continue reading it below and listen to it by watching the video we made and posted here on our Rumble channel and uploaded as a Brighteon video and also included here in our Toward The Mark video library on YouTube.

“A Leading Lady and Mother Like No Other”
A poetic story for a model mom, leading up to and on Mother’s Day, and beyond!

There is this wonder-full woman, woven by God’s Heavenly hand,
With strength like iron wrapped in a velvet strand.
She rose before dawn, coffee in one hand, prayer in the other,
Mapping out the day’s battles—those that only a mother could juggle
laundry, lost shoes, last-minute school projects, and still
send everyone out the door with lunch in their backpack
and blessings in their heart.

She’s the kind of woman who didn’t just “make do”—
She made miracles happen in the middle of ordinary messes.
She could stretch a dollar to make a family dinner,
turn leftovers into feasts, scraps into a masterpiece,
and yet somehow never run out of patience…
except for the time she came to find
the glitter-glue wall colored in permanent markers—
but even then, she taught grace in the cleanup.

Her kitchen table?
A sacred space of counsel—where wisdom flowed between biscuits and sweet tea,
where no problem was too big to fit between bites,
and no heartache left without hope wrapped in a hug.

She taught forgiveness with quiet eyes,
strength with a soft word,
and courage with a firm “You can do hard things.”
She made bedtime stories feel like royal proclamations
and prayers at night sound like whispers from Heaven’s throne.

Her life has been a Proverb 31 symphony,
playing out in the unseen—
folding laundry like ministry, grocery shopping like warfare,
disciplining with a holy balance of mercy and truth.

And oh, the laughter!
The “only-a-mom-could-laugh-at-this” moments:
finding a peanut butter sandwich in her purse during Sunday service;
discovering the dog’s missing collar… in the freezer;
sitting through dance recitals, ball games, spelling bees, and more...
armed with nothing but snacks and stamina of a saint.

And yet behind every “Mom, where’s my…?”
is a lady quietly sowing “mom seeds”—
seeds of faith, hope, wisdom, courage—
seeds watered by tears she let no body see,
flowing under The Son of God’s unwavering gaze.

So this week, as we celebrate her, let it be known:
She is not simply “the best mom,” or “the best grand-mom,”
though she’s earned those crowns ten-fold.

No—
She is so much more:
A vessel of God’s anointing;
An ambassador of His love;
A living, breathing testament to His wisdom and care from above.

Through her,
God writes His legacy in each child and grandchild she touches,
an inheritance of abilities second to none,
a mantle of grace passed down like a family heirloom,
woven into prayers whispered over cribs and college dorms,
echoing in every “You’re loved, you’re chosen, you are enough.”
She is God’s gentle prophet,
speaking His Heavenly Truth in everyday ways,
bearing sweet fruit from seeds sown in ordinary hours—
fruit that nourishes not just her family,
but everyone privileged enough to cross her path.

And so we pray:
** May all who gather around her this week see beyond the apron, the chauffeur, the bedtime enforcer, and snack provider—
** May they see the holy calling stitched into her story, the divine power flowing through her patience and care.
** May they recognize that, through her, God has modeled His love, His wisdom, His goodness and mercy to a world in need of all four.
** And may every child and grandchild blessed under her care walk in strength and skills in the overflow of her prayers, and stand tall in the shadow of her faith, shining with brilliance of The LORD she so beautifully reflects.

Happy Mother’s Day to a Lady like no other.
A queen. A prophet. A warrior in disguise.
A Portrait of God’s Majesty, Loving and Alive.

Proverb 31:25-31,  "Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looks well to the ways of her household, and eats not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates."

A little Guy with GOD is Bigger than ALL the Giants Combined

With God, We WIN; With-OUT God, We Don't Stand A Chance

There is a crucial factor we must point out and realize about David in his pursuit to face Goliath. David did not suddenly decide to go against the giant. David was most certainly accused by his older brother of being presumptuous or prideful by declaring that he would defeat the Philistine. But, truly, he was not being presumptuous or prideful at all. God had fully prepared David for this encounter, and David knew it! This is why he could be so confident in going forth against Goliath. It is also why he was able to overcome the grave doubts of Saul, the king. "And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth (1 Samuel 17:32-33)."

In this passage, David indicates his willingness to fight the Philistine, and Saul responds with a very rational sounding answer. For truly, in the natural, David's offer was preposterous! He was but a youth, a shepherd boy, while Goliath had been trained to be "a man of war from his youth." Yet, David knew that God had prepared him for such a time and explained how this had occurred.

"And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God. David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and The LORD be with thee (1 Samuel 17:34-37)."

David knew how to fight! He had faced the lion and the bear, but not alone! The LORD had delivered David from both. Consequently, he could confidently and reasonably expect that God would deliver him from the Philistine. And that is what he told the king. After hearing David's words, the king accepted David's offer, and then did a curious thing.

"And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail. And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed (tried it) to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him (1 Samuel 17:38-39)."

Saul tried to get David to wear Saul's own armor into the battle, but David refused, saying that he had no experience with them. Furthermore, David knew that God had given him skill with the sling, and he had had many hours of solitude as a shepherd to hone that skill. Finally, David had already seen Goliath arrayed in his armor and knew that he could be brought down with the sling, David's weapon of choice.

It would have been presumptuous of David to go forth wearing Saul's armor. In fact, it would have been a fatal mistake! For then the battle would have been fought on Goliath's terms in the flesh, and the giant would have won that fight.

To demonstrate the error of presumption through a counterexample to David's triumph, consider the occurrence from the time of Moses after God had miraculously delivered the children of Israel from slavery in Egypt and from starvation in the wilderness. At this point in their journey the children of Israel were preparing to invade the Promised Land, and so Moses sent twelve spies into the land of Canaan to bring back information that would help in the invasion.

Ten of the spies brought back an evil report of giants in the land. "And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight (Numbers 13:32-33)."

After hearing this report, the children of Israel refused to believe that God would be with them in the battle against the giants of Canaan. And consequently the people rejected the following words of the two faithful spies, Joshua and Caleb. "Only rebel not ye against The LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and The LORD is with us: fear them not. But all the congregation bade [threatened to] stone them with stones (Numbers 14:9-10)."

Having fear of the giants and lacking faith in God, the Israelites wished that they had died in the wilderness, and they even began preparing to return to the bondage of Egypt (see Numbers 14:2-4). As a result, God promised them that they would die in the wilderness even as they had wished! "Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith The LORD, as ye have spoken in Mine ears, so will I do to you: Your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness; (Numbers 14:28-29)."

After the Israelites heard that, however, they had second thoughts! The scripture records that "the people mourned greatly (Numbers 14:39)." Moreover, they began preparing to invade the land, but they were warned to not go forth into battle presumptuously. "Ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from The LORD, therefore The LORD will not be with you (Numbers 14:43)."

Despite the warning of the fact that "those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died by the plague before The LORD (Numbers 14:37)", the Israelites went presumptuously into battle with the Canaanites. The LORD was not with them, and they were badly beaten.

Subsequently, after forty years of wandering in the wilderness, the nation was again at the brink of invading the Promised Land. It was at this juncture that Moses made a point to relate the account of this incident from the failed first invasion to the children of the people whose carcasses had fallen in the wilderness according to the Word of The LORD. In his conclusion of the account, Moses said these words, "Then ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against The LORD, we will go up and fight, according to all that The LORD our God commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill. And The LORD said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies. So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of The LORD, and went presumptuously up into the hill. And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto Hormah (Deuteronomy 1:41-44)."

Thus, we see that instead of overcoming their fear, they were really guilty of rebellion and presumption. Their "boldness" was counterfeit, because God was not in it. So, even as David could not have overcome Goliath on his own and the Israelites could not overcome the Canaanites on their own, neither can we overcome intimidation by our own efforts, pride, or false hopes. We need the genuine boldness of righteousness that can only come from The LORD.

We pray that this brief exhortation fans into flames your passion for loving, trusting, believing, and following God wholeheartedly.  If you allow those flames to burn and increase in your life in Jesus Christ, your life will be better than our human minds are capable of perceiving... guaranteed!

So, "How do I begin the process of 'running INto' the giants I face... with The LORD?"

"The LORD gave the word: great was the company of those that published it (Psalm 68:11)."

A TTM MILITARY CALL TO PRAYER

They need God and us... like never before!

"The spirit of lawlessness and outright hate for all things godly is subtly, methodically, and torturously eroding away everything our brave military has fought for and died to preserve!" Keith and Brenda

Christians are called by God to stand in the gap on the behalf of our armed forces men, women, and their families. Do not exclude yourself in this calling, thinking the task of helping this precious community of people is too large for any one person to tackle; The opposite is true. No matter how bad things seem, God Made us this promise, "If my people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My Face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”  (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Find this message, and more, in "TTM Magazine" available on the TTM WEBSITE.
The dramatic rise in military suicides is being reported by the Associated Press, The New York Times magazine, and many others. In 2013, there were reportedly 479 suicides by active duty, Guard and Reserve personnel, and there is an average of 18 military veteran suicides per day. This is especially heartbreaking because these military men and women defend, or have defended our freedom on a daily basis, dealing with trauma at a level that most of us will never know. As easy as it is to listen to statistics like these, and simply view each person as a "number", it would be a terrible mistake. You see, each one of these individuals have families (both immediate and extended), friends, comrades in arms, and, in the case of Guard and Reserve members, they have coworkers back home.
Given all of this, it is surprising the responses we frequently receive whenever I mention the needs of our armed forces personnel and their families. It is my opinion that many in our churches tend to view them as second-class Americans, or as they are “out of sight, out of mind.”
If our troops and their families have ever needed us to better understand them and their many needs, it is now. The spiritual and psychological well-being of our military families is not something we can ignore any longer.
Folks, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is not only induced by experiences on a battle field. Funding to our military is continually being cut back, taking place from the top down, even as our precious men and women in uniform are being marched into the jaws of crippling depression and worse. The spirit of lawlessness and outright hate for all things godly, is subtly, methodically, and torturously eroding away everything that our brave military has always fought for and died to preserve. And it all began with those brave fighters who pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to stave off the tyranny that rose up to abort God’s plan for this great Nation.
You see, our troops are being forcibly subjected to social experimentation. They are proving grounds for the rest of America - guinea pigs, if you will! The poison of secular humanism is being forced down their throats, and our young men and women are expected to relinquish their God-given rights in order to accommodate the minority of the morally bankrupt among us.
Our troops and their families are being held hostage by the “do as we say, not as we do” lawmakers in Washington, DC. They are requiring our military personnel to live their lives and perform their tasks at a level of excellence, without incident, that those lawmakers would not lift a finger to uphold in their own lives.
“And he [Jesus] said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers. Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchers of the prophets, and your fathers killed them. Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchers. Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute: That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation; From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation. Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.” (Luke 11: 46-52)
Sadly, in record numbers our lawmakers and judges are using the law that our forefathers had designed to protect us, for their own evil gain. In short, they are using the law to obstruct justice!
“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” (Proverbs 29:2)
Christians are called by God to stand in the gap on the behalf of our armed forces men, women and their families. Do not exclude yourself by thinking the task of helping these precious men, women and children is too large for any one person to tackle, because the opposite is true. No matter how bad things seem, God made us this promise:
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Please pray for our military service members and their precious families; because they need God’s divine intervention now, more than ever before!
