OUT OF THE SHADOWS

"The Word of God says, 'Believe!' But how? Make up your mind: fear or Faith; fear or Freedom.  We all choose to believe in something.  If you 'fear', it's like a disease that is both preventable and curable."

"But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us." 1 Thessalonians 5:8-9....

Our senior pastor, Pastor Clay Davis, now 80-something years young (our best estimate from nearly 40 years of clues we've gathered), is also our friend and mentor for how to walk in restful faith with The Triune God.  He is a tremendous example of how we can reach to the very heart of the matter of fear and overcome it.  We asked Pastor Clay to tell us how he would explain is the best way to deal with fear that comes to rob us of life, and what advice he would offer others, no matter if they are in the church or un-churched.  We enjoy listening to our beloved elder and family pastor as the "preacher in the church pulpit" though he now shares his wisdom with us from his living room recliner.

Pastor Clay told us how he had received a certain birthday greeting card, with a tractor on the front, that said, "I wouldn't say you are old but..." (inside) "if you were a tractor tire you would be lying on your side, full of petunias."  Then, there was another "friendly" expression, when he said he was told that he lied so much about his age that someone would have to cut him in half and count the rings in order to know just how ole he really is!  In Pastor Clay's wonderful way of expressing how he really feels about his age he said, "God blessed me with a lifelong marriage to my (late) God-fearing wife, with four successful children, twelve incredible grandchildren, retirement, good friends around me, and many other blessings; I am not afraid of growing older."

Many folks, Pastor Clay explains to us, consider "the 'O' word", OLD, to be almost worse than "the 'F' word", FEAR!  Those are people who can't see tomorrow or what it may hold.  They begin to conjure up the unknown things that foster fear.  And fear ushers us right into the shadows of worry and stress.  Webster says that a "shadow" is something that only allows partial illuminations because of some opaque (unclear) object.  Shadows or clouds around us keep the "Son" from shining, leaving way for a fear of the unknown.

Jesus said to the ruler of the Synagogue, in Mark 5:36, "Be not afraid and only believe."  This is all-inclusive, regardless of money, man, sickness, sorrow, ....
... Jesus says, "Fear not!"
... God says, "Fear Not!"
... The Holy Spirit says not to yield to evil spirit imaginations.
As Pastor Clay would say, "That scores three to one; GOD WINS. The Word of God says, 'Believe!' But how? Make up your mind: fear or Faith; fear or Freedom.  We all choose to believe in something.  If you 'fear', it's like a disease that is both preventable and curable."

Let's follow that thought for a moment because there are many people we know suffering through fear, growing older being just one of their reasons.  There are folks who fear what was said yesterday that they cannot take back today.  Then, perhaps, some have fallen into fear from making a mistake today that will lead them to "face the music" tomorrow.  Fear, worry, and undue concerns cause high blood pressure, ulcers, and all kinds of other problems in our body that also come to erode our mind!  Pastor Clay gives a perfect example of this, by telling this story:

"

I am reminded of one of my favorite characters in the Bible, the man with the withered hand.  Let's call him 'Clay'.  He was a basket-case, hiding behind his clothes while he was engulfed (in the spirit) in the shadows.  He was deformed, sickly, an introvert, inwardly ugly, feeling unimportant, somewhat abandoned, and was nearing the end of any hope of ever being accepted by others and considered 'normal'.  In the third chapter of Mark where Jesus went into the Synagogue, the Pharisees were waiting, as always, to trap Him in something He would say or do that could be considered unlawful on the Sabbath day.  Jesus ignored them and, in compassion, called out to the man in the shadows, 'Come out.  Come on, I see you hiding there.'

Jesus seized the opportunity to reveal His Love to those who would choose to accuse Him, even if He knew they would not accept it.  Jesus already knew the heart and dilemma of the shadow-man's broken soul before Him.  Jesus simply said to the man, 'Come out of the shadows and stretch out your arm.'  Wow!  Can you imagine the silence and the anticipation?  The man could perhaps stretch out a good hand, or perhaps even a leg.  But, no, not this ugliness that has never been useful or even able to be moved.  But the man had to feel the Love and Authority in the Voice of The Master.  In that instant of God-given faith, the man reached out to Jesus.  And Jesus reached out to the man and made his arm WHOLE!

In a split second, a new man stood before the crowd.  If the man had said 'no' or walked away, or said, 'not now, maybe later', none of the freedom or anything would have come to happen.  Jesus was really saying, 'Stretch forth your shortcoming, your illness, your troubled finances, your doubts, your fears, your ...(whatevers)!'  Jesus asks us daily to step forth and walk in His Word.  Does that mean we won't have problems or situations?  Absolutely not!  Will He take our hands and walk with us every step of the way?  Absolutely, yes!  He will!  This is a promise He has never broken in the past, and He will never break ever.

In October of 1970, I stepped out of the shadows when I heard His Voice in my heart saying, 'come to Me.'  I have never looked back!  I heard the call from Matthew 11.  'Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and I will give you rest.'

"

Are you born again?  Then rest in Jesus.  Are you unsaved?  Step out of the shadows and rest in Him.  How, you ask?  Tell Him you love Him, repent of the sins in your life, commit yourself to Him, and He will do the rest.

Until we take our last breath and we hear our heart beat for the last time, we must make up our mind that we will overcome fear and become one with God in Christ.  If we will repent for our sins and accept the greatest sacrifice and gift that was paid by God's Only Son, Jesus Christ, then we move "out of the shadows" and into "The Light of the world" and to ultimate freedom for eternity with our loving Father in Heaven.

Being IN TRUE FAITH; OUT of SIN and DOUBT...

"There is this most-raised question from those who profess to believe in Christ Jesus, while yet in doubt, asking, 'How do I know I am really walking by faith?'" --Keith, Brenda, and the TTM Team

Anything that stands in the way of our walking totally by faith, trusting in, resting in, and waiting on God for everything in our lives displeases Him! What God truly desires is that we learn how to trust Him for everything in the same way that a little child knows, without a doubt, that he or she will have all their needs provided for without fail. "And Jesus called a little child unto Him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 18:2-3)."
It is this same kind of child-like faith in Him that God desires that we all acquire. How do we get it? We get it by first letting down the walls in our lives that have hindered us from opening ourselves up to sound Biblical counsel, and investing the time necessary to get to know God and His Word in an intimate way.

           So...
"... he that endures to the end shall be saved (Matthew 10:17-22)."

Remember, everything that God does is for the purpose of our being able to possess a close and deeply personal relationship with Himself. And, it is our faith that, as each of us puts that faith (even that of a mustard seed) to action, leads us to become bonded to Him. Without faith, we are walking in sin.

Apostle Paul teaches us, "Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemns not himself in that thing which he allows. And he that doubts is damned if he eat, because he eats not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin (Romans 14:22-23)." We must place all of our confidence in God! This is why Apostle Paul also, so emphatically, teaches us, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He IS, and that He is a Rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6)."

It is time to wake up and realize that this is simply another ploy of our enemy to separate God's people from God and all of the wonderful things that He has waiting for them. "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise (Proverbs 20:1)." "But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble [in] judgment (Isaiah 28:7)." Compromise in any form will always serve to ultimately cost us in our pursuit of becoming one with God! Whether it is alcohol, the abuse of street or prescription drugs, food, television, or anything else, Satan is constantly working to get his foot in the door of our lives to ultimately impair our ability to hear the voice of our loving Heavenly Father.

We must come to the place in our hearts where we know without a shadow of a doubt that, "There is nobody or nothing worth our relationship with Jesus Christ!"

Stay clear-minded and self-controlled y'all!
Keith, Brenda and The TTM Team

Pray this prayer, RELAX, and watch what God will do...
"Dear Father God, in the precious Name of Jesus Christ, the King of kings and the Lord of all lords, I lay my life at Your Feet. I come before You, confessing that I am a sinner, and I ask for You to forgive me of all my sins - those that I know I have committed, as well as those that I am not even aware of.  I ask that You come into my heart and be my Lord. I lay my life, and everything in it, at Your Feet, and ask that You please take me and begin to change me to be like YOU. I ask that You redeem the time that has passed, and allow me the opportunity to become exactly what You have predestined me to be, from before the foundation of the earth. I commit my life to You now, and thank You for receiving me as Your own. In the wonderful Name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, I pray, Amen."  And AMEN!!!

            WELCOME HOME!

We want to congratulate you for making the greatest decision that you'll ever make! By accepting Jesus Christ, or rededicating your life to Him, as your personal Lord and Savior, you have begun the wonder-full process of being grafted into the family of God, and we welcome you "Home" to God's Family. We would also like to invite you to contact us so that we can send you information that will help you begin growing in your relationship and daily walk with God. We would encourage you to begin attending a Holy-Spirit-filled, Bible-believing church right away.

Begin reading The Holy Bible daily, whether you understand it or not. Always remember, God's written Word in The Holy Bible is like no other book that has ever been written! When we rendezvous with The Person of The Holy Spirit as we read what God has written there, it becomes stored in our heart for The Holy Spirit to access it to bring to our remembrance.  You will find that the Scriptures will become applicable to whatever you are going through, at any given time!

There are wonderful Bible teachers on television and on the radio that can, especially early in your walk with God, help you to begin receiving good teaching, and encouragement, right away. Although very informative, these programs are never to be a substitute for close relationships with people who love and serve God. At times, the transformation process that you have now begun will be difficult, and you will be tempted to go back to your old ways of living your old life. It will be during times like these that hanging out with strong Christian friends and mentors will be crucially important. There really IS strength in numbers!

To help you grow in your journey to, as Jesus prayed in the garden, become *one* with our Father in Heaven, we have teaching resources that, if taken to heart, will help lead you INto ONEness with Christ Jesus. We have books, music CDs, customized individual teachings, blogs, podcasts, Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn messages, and videos you can take advantage of simply by contacting us. We would like to be among the first to welcome you into the Family of God... right where you "belong", now and always! (Selah)

And remember, no matter what, Keep PRESSIN' IN...  learnin', and growin' *with* our Lord and Savior.  You might consider using our book  LETTERS FROM THE FRONT, the special collection of keys to defeating hindrances that have kept many of God's servants from walking with the confidence and authority that Jesus Christ died to give us! Day 20, Paragraph 20 of Weekday Blog #1

*Starting our morning and day off great with the 10-minute Weekday Blog*
Our first DAILY blog for each Weekday in JUNE!

Thank you for joining us for this
ground-breaking JOURNEY
...
through the 1st CHAPTER of Keith's book,
Keep the FAITH…Keep Your VISION”!

If you will read this book in its entirety, then you will be equipped to begin walking with the confidence and authority that Jesus Christ came and died to provide for us, in order that we may work *with* Him, be *fulfilled* in our work, lead a *successful life*, and...

Day TWENTY,
Paragraph TWENTY:

The nail scars in the palms of Christ’s hands are “us”, His Family members, engraved there by His taking the punishment for us and our sins. When we have chosen to receive His sacrifice and be grafted “in” Him and grafted into His family, we become as one. Because we are engraved, Jesus gave us the following promise: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." (John 10:27-29)

Question to ponder:

Why would you think that the way God had mathematically formulated the blood of Christ Jesus is among His very-most prized creations?  _________________________________________

Keith's "Comments from the Author":

"Family is God's creation, and is His primary focus with every single thing He does. If not for the redemption that Christ Jesus provided for us, we would all be splintered, each of us going our own way, each of us 'leaning to our own carnal understanding' (reference Proverbs 3:5-6). That would be a life *without* Life. Having been a member of the Body of Christ for many years, I've heard many messages taught on God's written Word. When I was given the humbling and unfathomable honor of seeing first-hand what I had heard so much about God and the Holy Spirit, I was stunned! His Love, Glory, Power, Joy, Fun, and all that is indescribable of His Majesty, was just tremendous beyond the most anointed messages I had ever heard taught. From this point on, I will do my best to explain with words what words are not truly capable of expressing about my life-changing experience of meeting the Person of the Holy Spirit and being led by Him to meet God face-to-face

God's way of communicating: Among many things that stood out to me, God's form of communicating took me by surprise. He communicates on a much, much higher level than the way I had ever imagined or comprehended. The best way I can describe it is, whatever He wanted me to know, He imparted it to me, not by speaking audible words, but as if there was no time between His thinking what He wanted me to know and my receiving it. There's nothing on earth to compare it to, especially considering it's all done without using any words at all.

The Scriptures: When I saw God, I remember thinking about the Scriptures, not in the way that we generally do on earth - reading God's words from a printed page - but something quite different. It was like the written Word of God suddenly became a part of who I was! Understanding flowed into my being, and far surpassed everything I had ever heard preached or written, or could ever learn by human intellect. In short order as I stood with God, my limited and fragmented understanding of His Word, His Will, and His Ways, all at once came together in perfect precision. Totally clean of all human influence, God's original intent and meaning for each verse or passage I had read or heard in His Word came alive in my spirit, like an incredibly joy-filled explosion!

Understanding God and Family: Standing there with God, I was overcome with humility and gratitude like I had never felt before! I was finally 'at home' with my Father, which filled me infinitely with joy that my words on earth cannot even begin to describe. Though so much was going on at the same time, one thing was clear and constant in the forefront of my mind. That was the enormity of the price Jesus Christ paid, by sacrificing His own life as a ransom for ours, so we could have the privilege of becoming part of God's loving and joyful Family for eternity. As I looked at our Heavenly Father and His endless majesty, I was 'arrested' by everything about Him. I realized that, without redemption provided to us through Christ, I would not have been able to be standing there gazing on the most wonder-full, power-full, loving sight that any eye can ever behold. I wanted to remain there for the entirety of eternity! That's when it dawned on me that Jesus Christ being referred to as 'Lord of all' is, in my estimation, the greatest understatement ever made! A paradigm shift took place in my understanding of that indescribable privilege of beholding God, and being able to just 'gaze' on Him. I am so grateful to God that, in Christ Jesus, we (the solitary) are provided a place in His Family (reference Psalm 68:6a).

In closing: Although I could go on and on and on telling you what it was like standing in God's unspeakable Glory, the problem is, it would be the last thing I would be able to do here on earth because His majesty and His greatness are endless! I like how John put it when he was explaining Jesus and His earthly ministry in John 21:25, 'And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. For the sake of leaving you with just one of the countless verses that had been defined for me in my encounter, this one in Psalm 16:11 (written out below) is among those that tell of the level of experience we can have by being with God. The reality that 'I was at home' dwarfed everything I had ever understood about home and family while on this earth. When God, Jesus Christ, and the Person of the Holy Spirit receive those who are Their children, it is a celebration that is unlike any that we can have and enjoy here in this life. It is only when we stand with God that we can bask in the highest level of love, peace, rest, joy, fun, and 'family' that exists, far beyond what we could ever imagine from now... until then."

"Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. (Psalm 16:11)

WE PRAY YOU HAVE A FUN WEEKEND...
... FILLED with fresh visions of God!
... FILLED with unfathomable joy in Christ Jesus!
... FILLED with wisdom that only the Person of The Holy Spirit brings!

*We look forward to meeting here again for the final two weekday blogs for the month. Invite your friends to join in from the beginning today! May
